National NGO helped a child suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

At the time of her referral in 2012, Deepanshi Pal was a one year old child suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), also called acute lymphoblastic leukemia, is a cancer that starts from the early version of white blood cells called lymphocytes in the bone marrow (the soft inner part of the bones, where new blood cells are made). Leukemia cells usually invade the blood fairly quickly. The term “acute” means that the leukemia can progress quickly, and if not treated, would probably be fatal within a few months.

Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital at AIIMS where she was being observed under Dr. Sameer Bakshi. Considering Chander Pal’s income which did not exceed Rs.100 daily, the doctors at AIIMS referred his daughter’s case to National NGO. Thereafter, the team at National NGO collected Rs. 150,000 (Rs. One Lakh Fifty Thousand only) towards the entire cost of her treatment. Today, Deepanshi is a healthy child!
